Meditation is one of the best ways to slow your mind down and give your body an energy boost. Many dismiss meditation because they think it takes up too much time. Fortunately doing simple breathing exercises for just 1 – 2 minutes can have the same benefits of a 30-minute meditation practice.
Give it a try:
Find a comfortable seated position. With your eyes closed, start to loosen your shoulders by rolling them forward and backward. Slowly roll your head from side to side until you neck feels relaxed. When you are ready, take a deep long breath in through your nose. On the exhale, allow your breath to come through slowly through your mouth. During the inhale and exhale, focus on your breath. If thoughts about your day creep in, refocus on your breath. Repeat this breath 3 times.
Repeat this exercise a few times a day or when you are feeling stressed, fatigued, or if you just need a little break.
