Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Cindy Wechsler is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) and has been caring for children and their families for 30 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Adelphi University and a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Yale University with additional certifications as a Holistic Health Counselor and Educator of Infant Massage. Cindy has advanced training in various specialties through Breastfeeding Resources, Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), Pediatric Integrative Mastermind Mastery Course, Infant Massage USA and Integrative and Functional Nutrition (IFN). Her work as a lactation consultant and weight loss counselor over the years has given her additional insight into the functional health of mothers and children.
Cindy is extremely effective with helping parents who choose to embrace the use of evidence based natural remedies and alternative therapies to foster lifelong wellness of their children thus bridging the gap between integrative and conventional medicine.
Cindy’s practice focuses on the integrative treatment of common childhood conditions including:
- Abdominal pain
- Attention and behavioral issues
- Eczema and other skin conditions
- Food sensitivities
She also provides counseling in the areas of lactation, vaccines, sleep issues, food introduction, nutrition and weight management (to children and adults), and teaches parents the art of infant massage.
Throughout her career, she has helped many families manage colic by offering infant massage, dietary management and herbal treatment. Cindy has been effective at the reduction and avoidance of medication use in ear infections and upper respiratory infections as well as constipation (one of the most common pediatric and adult chronic conditions). In addition, her own son was diagnosed with asthma and ADHD at an early age and he thrived without the use of medication by following an integrative approach.
Cindy is the mother of two healthy, well-adjusted young adults. She is compassionate, non-judgmental and caring and believes that every parent knows their child best. She listens and works collaboratively with the parent to determine the best care for their child(ren). When Cindy is not in the office, you can find her training at the gym or enjoying the great outdoors.
