Cold Laser Therapy is a FDA approved treatment that uses low or cold light to increase cellular energy in the body. Cold Laser Therapy is a painless and non-invasive therapy used to address pain and inflammation. During the therapy the body absorbs cold light that stimulates blood flow, increases circulation, and enhances lymphatic flow. This results in the detoxification of cellular waste and increased energy production, stimulating cellular repair and healing in bone and soft tissue. Cold Laser Therapy also increases endorphins reducing pain.
Common conditions treated by cold laser therapy include:
- Chronic low back pain
- Sprains and strains
- Arthritis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Herpetic lesions
- Scar healing
- Hip pain
- Headaches and Migraines
- Peripheral Neuropathy
- Neck pain
- Skin Ulcers
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Osteoarthritis
- Bursitis
- Acne
- TMJ dysfunction
- Psoriasis
- Tinnitus
Treatments can range from just one or two visits to multiple visits over several weeks. The frequency of visits depends on the severity of the condition and the body’s response to treatment. Typically, for acute conditions 2 to 6 treatments may be sufficient. More chronic conditions may require 6-12 sessions. Conditions such as severe arthritis may require ongoing periodic care to control pain.
You may feel improvement in your condition (usually pain reduction) immediately or within a few hours of the very first treatment. For some more severe cases the benefits occur more slowly. Not everyone responds to laser therapy and results cannot be guaranteed. Each treatment is cumulative and results are often felt after 2 to 6 sessions. Treatments just take a few minutes, however the therapeutic effect continues to sooth and heal long after you leave our office.
