Dr. Boyd is a licensed naturopathic physician in the State of Connecticut. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2011 with his B.S. in Biochemistry and minor in Business. After working in the healthcare IT consulting sector, he developed a keen interest in health and nutrition, which led him to naturopathic medicine. He appreciated that naturopathic medicine placed a heavy emphasis on using nutrition and lifestyle as prevention, while also having a vast array of treatment approaches that respect the body as a highly dynamic, vastly interconnected, system.
Dr. Boyd graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine and is staffed as the Chief Resident at the Center of Excellence in Generative Medicine. During his first year of study at the University of Bridgeport, he was awarded a scholarship to study with world-renowned physician Dr. Peter D’Adamo. This opportunity allowed him to further hone his skills in naturopathic medicine, while also learning how to use the tools of bioinformatics and generative medicine extensively. He contributed to the development of Dr. D’Adamo’s Opus23 and Utopia software programs, which are the programs he uses for genomic and microbiome analysis, respectively. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Clinical Excellence and Physical Medicine Excellence awards.
Dr. Boyd prides himself in spending time with his patients to help them understand the goals of treatments and fully embraces one of the major philosophical tenants of naturopathic medicine: Doctor as teacher. He helps patients to understand the thought processes behind their personalized treatment protocols and empowers them to be active in their care plan. He works diligently to pinpoint the specific underlying causes of conditions for patients to help them find long-term relief.
In his practice, Dr. Boyd uses a variety of therapeutic approaches, including botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, physical medicine, hydrotherapy, lifestyle counseling. He is able to order both traditional and functional labs to aid in diagnosis and performs genomic analysis and microbiome analysis.
In his spare time, Dr. Boyd enjoys spending time with his family and friends, rock climbing, hiking with his dog, Eva, and traveling to new places.
