Beverly Block Lewis grew up on the Block Farm in Monroe, CT in the 1960’s and 70’s. She began a career in insurance in the 1980’s and brought up two children. Aaron is a civil and structural engineer living near Boston with his wife Jeanne and their two children, Emma and Avery. Beverly is proud to work with her daughter Ellen, a naturopathic physician. She delights in spending time with all her grandchildren, including her son-in-law Ryan and Ellen’s children, Neela and Ameera.
A special interest in cooking and the understanding of where and how our foods are grown and sourced affect our health led Beverly to embark on a journey to study herbalism at Twin Star Herbal Education and Sage Mountain Botanical Sanctuary for many years, among others. More than twenty years ago, Beverly began her studies in Shamanism and Shamanic healing, developing her contemporary practice based on centuries old knowledge lost to Western civilization over the years.
She enriches her life and the lives of others through reading, workshops, and classes. She has completed a two-year program at the New England School of Homeopathy. She holds a Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification. She recently completed a program in End-of-Life Herbal Studies through the Sage Mountain Botanical Sanctuary in Vermont. She has recently completed her End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate through the Robert Larner M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.
A Reiki master, herbalist, and enthusiastic flower essence practitioner, Beverly enjoys the beauty and joy of life every day while running an insurance agency with her partner Previn. For the past 16 years, she served on the Board of Managers and Chaired the Health Education Committee, Project Grants, for the Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) Auxiliary. She is also a member of the Smilow Wellness Workshops Committee.
